The Museum Würth opens Sculptors & Spaces: Anthony Caro and Eduardo Chillida, an exhibition that brings together around 70 sculptures and murals by two artists who will both be 100 years old in 2024. With their often expansive sculptures, Anthony Caro (1924-2013) and Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) have left their mark in many places, but they also share small-format pieces, as well as a diversity of materials used. The exhibition highlights the differences but also the similarities of the two sculptors, who constantly explored the fields of the possible in terms of form, material and subject matter in sculpture.
With their work, both Caro and Chillida transcended existing boundaries, are recognised as representatives of sculptural abstraction and contributed significantly to the development of modern sculpture. In addition, their works are represented in renowned collections and museums all over the world and have long been enriching the Würth Collection.
