Krems Kuntshalle

Krems, Austria

29.04.2023 - 29.09.2023

For the first time, Austria is hosting a monographic exhibition of Eduardo Chillida at the Kunsthalle Krems museum. With a total of 80 graphic and sculptural pieces on display from 29 April to 29 September, this exhibition pays special attention to Chillida's Gravitations, his famous creations on paper from the 1980s onwards. Sketches, models and photographs of some of his most emblematic sculptures, such as his work Peine del Viento (Comb of the Wind), will also be on display.

Most of the pieces that will be on display in Krems come from Chillida Leku, the Eduardo Chillida Estate and other private collections, as well as having the support of Hauser & Wirth. In this way, the celebration of Eduardo Chillida 100 years, promoted by the Eduardo Chillida - Pilar Belzunce Foundation, advances in its work to bring the artist's work closer to a diversity of cultures and a multitude of corners of the world.

This initiative is part of the commemoration of the Basque artist's centenary, made up of a full programme of exhibitions, workshops, conferences, music, education and thought organised both nationally and internationally. In this sense, the Krems exhibition is yet another opportunity to promote, disseminate and transmit his work, his values and his contributions to the history of contemporary art.
