On the centenary of Eduardo Chillida's birth, the Orfeón Donostiarra has put together an organ programme in two parts: the first contains works that the sculptor loved, such as extracts from the Passion according to Saint Matthew or Bach's Cantata 140, as well as works by Cohen, Lloyd Webber, Madina or Fauré. In the second part, the programme opened up to Basque composers, Lesbordes, Uruñuela; Ugalde, Olaizola, Lertxundi, Lete and Sorozábal.

Eduardo Chillida showed his admiration for the Orfeón on numerous occasions and the relationship was close. In 1997, the year of the choir's centenary, Chillida was a member of the Honorary Commission and altruistically designed a logo based on a pentagram that became an identifying symbol. When Chillida Leku was inaugurated in 2000, the Orfeón helped to achieve one of the artist's wishes: to hear Bach's Magnificat in the Kursaal Auditorium.

At his funeral, the choir dedicated a special memorial to him during the mass that was held at the Basilica of Santa María del Coro on 21st August 2002. During Communion they performed Mendelssohn's Psalm No. 43.
