Chillida & Ciaccona. The space of sound

In this project, made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and the Bilbao Choral Society, the music of Bach and other contemporary composers dialogues with the works of Eduardo Chillida installed on the terrace of the museum, creating a unique opportunity to enjoy these compositions in a different context and creating an exciting experience.

The music of Johann Sebastian Bach is a continuous reference point in Eduardo Chillida's creations. This musical proposal, featuring the accordionist Iñaki Alberdi and the Bilbao Choral Society, combines the work of the sculptor from San Sebastian with the compositions of the master from Leipzig. It also features a revision by Javier Quislant to adapt the immortal Ciaccona for accordion and choir, as well as works by other contemporary composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina and Knut Nystedt.
