Presentation of the book ‘Una vida para el arte’ (A life for art) by Susana Chillida

Galaxia Gutenberg and HW Publishers are publishing Una vida para el arte, a volume in which Susana Chillida compiles fond memories with her father, Eduardo Chillida, and her mother, Pilar Belzunce.

In this book Susana Chillida, his daughter, pays them both a vivid tribute in which she reviews her father's professional career while at the same time weaving a family memoir. The public works - such as the Wind Comb or In Praise of the Horizon -, the lurras, the anagrams, the aphorisms, the gravitations, the collages..., the whole of Eduardo Chillida's work parades through these pages, while the author highlights the importance of the figure of Pilar Belzunce, a woman ahead of her time, throughout the sculptor's entire career. This journey is enriched with personal and family anecdotes, with happy and painful memories, with photographs. Also with reflections on what it means to be an artist and to be the daughter of an artist: for Susana Chillida her father's sculptures were like other sisters.
